What is Independent Procurement?
Independent procurement refers to any activity of procurement carried out without any control or supervision from the enterprise or its procurement organization. This enables a department to carry out purchasing activity on its own by identifying its needs, shortlisting suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions, finalizing the purchase order, and taking charge of the audit and delivery of the product or service.
